It’s a process, you know.
Healing your visioning, trusting in your instincts and intuition, and healing your voice. But one step is still missing.
Healing your relationship with action.
If taking action would be depicted as a continuum, the other end of that continuum would be ‘too much action’ and the other ‘too little action’.
Either extreme isn’t healthy.
If we haven’t healed our visioning, our instincts and intuition or our voice, we can’t have a healed relationship with action.
When that relationship isn’t healed, we tend to hang out more or less towards either of the extremes – taking too much or too little action.
Too much action, in this case, often comes from trying to convince the world around you of your worthiness and enoughness. With action that is seeking validation, acceptance and love.
But if the driving force is the feeling of unworthiness and not enoughness, then it’s a doomed attempt right from the beginning.
There’s no amount of action that gets us what we want, if we don’t first have a healed relationship with action. (And before that can happen, a healed relationship with visioning, trusting your instincts and intuition and honouring your voice.)
This is often the phase when one is exhausting him or herself with busyness.
Too little action, then, stems from the exact same reason as too much action – not feeling worthy or enough. Only this time, one is conditioned more into freezing or fawning as a survival mechanism, instead of fight or flight, and therefore withdraws herself from taking inspired action. Or any action.
Fawning, though, can lead to taking too much action, too, as one is searching for meaning through seeking outside approval.
Now, if you recognise yourself in any of these, I want to let you know that it’s perfectly ok. There’s nothing wrong with you.
We all have all of these survival mechanisms ingrained in us, and depending on the situation, we lean more towards one or two of them.
The golden nugget here is to notice this in your own life and instead of letting your survival strategies lead the show, you start to heal your relationship with action and start to take the lead yourself.
If you’re in the beginning phases of this process, I’d kindly invite you to start first with healing your relationship with visioning, trusting your instincts and intuition and honouring your voice.
If this resonates, and when you’re ready, I have an online course you can start with. Just reach out and I’ll share the details with you.
If you’re in the point of healing your relationship with action, I’d like to invite you to start with focusing more specifically on what is already working and less specifically on what isn’t.
This small shift in focus has made a huge difference in both my own and my clients’ lives and businesses.
I’m happy to share more about the way you can do this, if you’d like. We can hop on a short call and I’ll share the details.
When you’re ready, reach out through the contact form by clicking here, and mention ‘relationship with action’ and I’ll get back to you soon.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Much love,
Paula
