This week the work environment has been somewhat different than normally. I was traveling with our middle one as she’s attending a figure skating camp on the other side of the country. As a consequence, my office was by the ice rink, laptop open, freezing, while it’s +29 celcius degrees outside. Ha!
Taking both physical and mental distance from the usual everyday life was more than welcome, though. Change of scenery always opens up new viewpoints. It got me connecting with my why, with my reasons for being.
Going back to basics, really. And going back to basics is so empowering as it allows us to go even deeper with our purpose. Both personally and professionally.
I’ve come to notice that breaking the routines every once in a while is very inspiring. I’ve noticed that taking a break from things you do daily, creates space for new ideas. I’ve also noticed that doing something different for a while raises our thinking to a new level.
I love routines, I thrive because of them, yet I love breaking those routines every once in a while, too!
Every time I do so, I’m more likely to do something new, something different. And with these new experiences I gain more clarity and freedom.
While routines help us be productive, stay organized and find meaning in life, let’s be careful that they don’t cut us off from feeling. That they don’t become the new autopilot that we’re bored performing day after day.
Breaking the routines every once in while is the perfect antidote fore boredom.
I cherish the opportunities to break the routines. I see those breaks as opening of a sacred space. As an opportunity to connect more deeply with the Infinite Intelligence that flows within us all.
And being and creating from that sweet inspired spot is beyond this world awesome.
Much love,
Paula
