Relationships, relationships, relationships

Yesterday we were celebrating the 13th wedding anniversary with my husband. It’s significant, although we’ve been together for 22 years!

The journey has been with its ups and downs, as you can imagine. But we’re here today. Celebrating the freedom to love each other. And that is the most beautiful thing of all – the freedom to love.

The almost 80 years long Harvard study proved that embracing our relationships help us live longer and be happier.

“The surprising finding is that our relationships and how happy we are in our relationships has a powerful influence on our health,” said Robert Waldinger, director of the study, and both a psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

With this in mind, how can you cherish your relationships? How can you make sure you’re happy in your relationships? Whether romantic or not?

Do you need to leave some relationships behind and find new ones? Or set boundaries in your existing ones?

If we thrive when in relationship, let’s give those a bit more attention during this northern hemisphere’s summer season!

In addition to my relationship with my spouse, kids and relatives, I’m embracing my relationship with nature and with myself.

These I nurture, and make sure I’m happy in, by giving daily attention to each, even though it sometimes means just few minutes. Over time, however, those few minutes add up to significant amounts of time, when attended consistently.

How do you make yourself happy in your relationships?

This year, our anniversary also marks a time for us to concentrate on resting, relaxing and rejuvenating. It’s so important to take time to re-energize and to immerse yourself in different activities than you usually do.

Although I’m still working for this week, we took off with the family and are spending some time with our relatives. One of the reasons I wanted to be an entrepreneur was that I’d able to work from wherever. And that’s the freedom I’m utterly in love with!

For the very reason, the future blog posts will be in a bit different form for a while. You can expect to get short notes from me, with quick updates and tips. The vacation mode is on for the upcoming month of July!

Let’s shake off the old and embrace the new during this northern hemisphere’s summer season!

Much love,
Paula
